Japanese Restaurant Jupiters Casino Gold Coast

Jupiters Hotel & Casino will open the doors to Kiyomi, its newest restaurant and bar in December. The new venue will serve a modern, yet distinctly Japanese menu created by internationally recognised Restaurant Executive Chef Chase Kojima. Meanwhile, the fluorescent UV artwork, which covers an entire wall of the restaurant, was created by Tokyo-based Houxo Que, a Japanese street artist. Located on Level 4 of Jupiters Hotel & Casino, Kiyomi is part of the property's $345 million transformation.

Kiyomi opened in December 2014 as part of the $345 million transformation of Jupiters Hotel and Casino on the Gold Coast, Australia. The 120 seat cutting-edge Japanese restaurant and bar was designed by award winning architecture and interior design firm Luchetti Krelle in partnership with Steelman Partners.

2. Taste the flavours of Tokyo on the Gold Coast at Jupiters foremost Japanese dining experience. Executive chef is Chase Kojima, head chef at Sydney's one-hatted Sokyo restaurant at The Star. Kojima specialises in cutting-edge Japanese cuisine and has led Nobu kitchens in Las Vegas, Dubai, London, Los Angeles and the Bahamas.
3. Kiyomi has definitely proven to be a hit! With classic favourites from its sibling restaurant in Sydney, I'm looking forward to seeing the menu at Kiyomi evolve with more local seasonal Queensland produce. Brintons worked together with Luchetti Krelle to develop a striking custom designed Axminster carpet, taking a traditional gingko leaf design and evolving it into a striking, graphic pattern. The contemporary copper and bronze base adds to the overall warmth of the interior and provides a restrained contrast to the venue's standout feature - a bespoke fluorescent art installation by Japanese street artist Houxo Que which sits prominently at the end of the restaurant.

The venue successfully respects Japanese design principles, layering cultural cues inspired by traditional motifs, with a contemporary twist. It is no surprise that the project was shortlisted in the International Restaurant and Bar Design Awards 2015, London in the International Category for Best Australian and Pacific Restaurant.

We were very happy with our collaboration with Brintons on Kiyomi, a Japanese restaurant on the Gold Coast. Brintons were involved from early concept, giving us the technical advice on how to bring our graphic vision to life. Brintons provided graphic layouts, as well as a physical hand trial, which made the review and approvals process very easy. To adhere to Japanese design principles, we used a restrained palette. The Ginko leaf motif was evolved with Brintons to achieve a little flair and more contemporary feel. We feel the end result added another level and texture to a narrow space
